Minutemen
Today's Acton Minutemen are made up of men, women, and children, ages
5 through 85. We strive to bring history to life by portraying those
brave Patriots of the American Revolution from Acton who risked, and
even gave, their lives on April 19th, 1775 in the cause for freedom.

The Brigade is a nonprofit living history association
dedicated to recreating life and times of the common soldier of the
American Revolution, 1775-1783.

Fifers and Drummers Association
The Connecticut Fifers and Drummers Association was organized in 1885
with the purpose to improve drum corps; compete for prizes; bring the
members of the Association into closer union and good fellowship; and
to continue in spirit the martial music of past and present generations.

A Revolutionary War living History and reenactors group based in the
eastern Connecticut area portraying the British forces in North America.
The Corps of
Drums Society
Founded in 1977 in London, England with the primary
aim of preserving and promoting drum and fife music based on the traditions
of the British Army.
Daughters
of the American Revolution
The D.A.R. was founded in 1890 and incorporated by an Act of the United
States Congress in 1896.
Fort
Henry
Restored 19th century British military fortress, features daily fife
and drum music demonstrations, military re-enactments including artillery
firing, childrens' and school group programs, and tours in English and
French. Owned by Parks Canada; operated by St. Lawrence Parks. Weekly
"Sunset Ceremony" often features visiting fife and drum or
pipe and drum bands.

Fort Ticonderoga visitors enter the garrison grounds through iron gates,
and drive through history: the Carillon Battlefield, site of the greatest
French victory of the Seven Years War as well as the subsequent battles
during the French & Indian and American Revolutionary wars.

Commemorating the individuals who served in the Old Guard and helping
to organize future reunions and keep precious memories fresh.

Columbus Civil War Naval Center
A visit to Port Columbus will allow visitors to place their feet in
the shoes of those who made history in the sea services of the Union
and Confederate Navies during the Civil War. Visit the original Confederate
warships in the collection, some of the rarest and most significant
Civil War artifacts in the nation, and reconstructed ships in which
the visitor can feel how it must have been to live and work.

A group of Drum Majors concerned about preserving the heritage, history,
and fellowship of the Drum Major art form, their goal is to provide
an information clearinghouse to current or aspiring regimental Drum
Majors. Membership in their organization is free.
