Calling all Volunteers! Members of the fife and drum community are cordially invited to participate in Connecticut Day at The Big E in West Springfield, MA on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 for a day of performance that begins at 9am. You will be joining other members of the fife and drum community to form a group that will perform short concerts and parades throughout the venue. In return for your performance the Big E will make a donation to The Company of Fifers & Drummers. 

Jaybird Day is an annual event to honor our “old-timers”. Held at The Company of Fifers & Drummers headquarters and museum on the first Saturday in October, it is one of our most enjoyable events of the
year.

The day typically progresses as follows:

• Registration begins at 10:30 with coffee and refreshments available
• Lunch will be served at 12:30
• Around 1:00 p.m. we will pay tribute to this year's Honored Jaybirds
• After all the honoring is completed door prizes are awarded, there will be a 50/50 raffle, and finally a
  jam session and all-around good time!

This is a great social occasion and an opportunity to thank our old-timers for their contribution to drum corps over the years.

Admission to the event is $10, free for juniors and all over 60.

Come join us for Juniors Workshop 2026! This exciting event for young fifers and drummers between the ages of 8 and 18 offers an exciting variety of group and individual activities. Choose from a wide variety of classes and put together a schedule that reflects your interests! Space is limited, so attendees will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.

A FREE learning weekend of fife and drum workshops at Jamestown Settlement hosted by the Field Music School Association.
Classes on everything from basic individual skills, developing the ensemble, bass drum 101, poise and posture, finance 101 for non-profits.
Special guest the US Army's Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps with a special behind the scenes look at pre-show preparation.
