Mr. William B. Rotella, Jr, 82, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on March 10, 2020 at Wolcott View Manor.  He was the loving husband of Madeline G. (Geloso) Rotella.

Bill RotellaBill was born in Waterbury on December 21, 1937, a son of the late William B. and Bernice (Rudokas) Rotella, Sr.  He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School.  Bill proudly served his country in the United Ststes Navy Reserve. Bill had a love for playing the drums and began playing at the age of 9. He started his drum studio in 1960 and continued teaching eager students to play the drums for 70 years.

Bill had many interests, including travel, magic, locksmithing and trips to the flea market.  His passion was drumming with St. Peters Drum Corp and working with every student he had over the years.

Besides his wife, Madeline, of 58 years, Bill leaves his children, Albert W. Rotella of Waterbury, and Paula M. LaPolice of Southwick, MA., his grandchildren, Kyle LaPolice, Austin, Madison and Savanah Rotella, and his brother, James A. Rotella and his wife, Carol, of Oakville.


Arrangements:  Funeral will be held Monday,  8:30 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at Saint James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
