Marilyn Eve Weksner, 67, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2024.
She was born on March 29, 1957 to Eileen (Beloin) Weksner and the late Chester Weksner. A lifelong New Britain resident, Marilyn graduated from Pulaski High School, Class of 1975. She was a faithful communicant of St. Jerome Church, New Britain where she was a choir member for over 40 years, up until 2019. Marilyn happily worked at Allstate Insurance, as a secretary at the Farmington branch for her entire career.
Marilyn’s ambition was to travel and vacation in all 50 states. She loved visiting Ireland and exploring destinations on numerous cruises. Marilyn was generous to many charities. She had a talent to sew and crochet many different items and gifted them to many. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and Godmother who will be greatly missed.
Marylin was an outstanding fifer and marched with many corps, including Carey's, Newington and Yalesville. She was a Life Member of the Company of Fifers & Drummers.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved mother Eileen Weksner; sisters Rosanne Carey and her husband Kevin, Carolyn Sikora and her husband John; brother Bill Weksner; superb nephews Ryan Carey, Godson Shawn Carey and his wife Teri, Brendan Carey, Justin Sikora and his wife Mary; and amazing grandnephews Patrick, Benjamin and 6-month-old Edmond. She is also survived by her aunt Andrea Beloin, as well as many cousins. Marilyn was predeceased by her father Chester Weksner; Godparents Wilfred Beloin and Jennie Cote; and the most dear and wonderful friend, Dominick Palmisano, Sr.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Marilyn’s family on Friday, November 22nd, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. Mass of Christion Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 23rd at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Road, New Britain. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church.
