Ray Narducci of Killingworth, aged 72, passed away after a brief illness, November 27, 2024 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born on March 21, 1952, Ray grew up in Chester CT, attending Chester Elementary and graduated from Valley Regional High School.
Ray served his community as a member of the Chester Hose Company for many years. He had a passion for historical music and reenactments, dedicating much of his time to several fife and drum corps including Chester, Westbrook and Sailings Masters of 1812. He also participated in the 10th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Company C, focusing on American Civil War reenactments. His commitment to these groups was not just a hobby but a significant part of his identity, fostering community and education about historical events.
Ray had racing in his blood. He was involved in racing his whole life. He worked on many pit crews throughout the northeast. Being an owner and having his own car raced as a member at Silver City Quarter Midget Club in Meriden CT. When Ray didn't visit the track anymore, being a race car enthusiast, you could find him on any weekend watching any type of car racing.
Ray is survived by his children, Corinda Narducci of Bristol CT, Joseph Narducci of Maine, Christine (Patrick) Choronzy of Branford CT, and Andrew (Shannon McClure)Narducci of East Haddam; his grandchildren Brianna, Sean, Tessa, Leah, Quinn; and his brothers, Peter (Linda) Narducci of Westbrook CT, Robert (Betty) Narducci of North Myrtle Beach SC, and Paul (Mary) Narducci of Deep River CT. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family including Carol Crysler of Wilksboro NC, Suzanne Ott of Merritt Island FL and his pet companions Rosie and Chewy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond J. (Irene M.) Narducci Sr. and his pet companions; Bonnie, Sam and Maggie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Company of Fifers and Drummers in Ivoryton CT, on January 12 from Noon to 4 pm. Please join us as we honor Rays life with stories, laughter, fond remembrances and jamming.
