1st Annual Juniors Jollification

On December 8th the first event sponsored by the recently reconvened Juniors committee took place at the Company Hall. The event was held following the Saybrook Torchlight parade and was intended to provide a junior-friendly environment to socialize and jam after the torchlight parade.

2nd International Rudimental Drummer’s Symposium Held in Paris

From September 28-30 fifty-seven rudimental drummers from 13 countries met in Paris to share musical traditions from their countries relating to Rudimental Drumming, discuss notational systems and their impact on performance, discuss best practices around education and organization of support for traditional activities, and to learn and perform traditional rudimental drumming from each others culture together. The event was hosted by the French drumming society Tambours d'89 at the historic and majestic Les Invalides in Paris, France.

Jaybird Day 2018 Recap

October 6, 2018 marked the 43rd observance of Jaybird Day, our annual event to honor our “old-timers”.  This year our honored Jaybirds were Carmin Calabrese, Marilyn and Terry Malcarne, and Gus and Debbie Cuccia.

MCV at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo

Boston's Middlesex County Volunteers spent a month performing at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland.

2018 No Foolin’ Jam a Success!

A great crowd came out on April 7 to enjoy a fun afternoon of fifing and drumming at the 24th annual No Foolin’ Jam hosted by the Adamsville Ancients.

Kentish Guards Hold Annual Banquet

The annual Kentish Guards Fife and Drum Corps Awards Banquet was held Saturday, January 20th at the Eleven Forty-Nine Restaurant in East Greenwich, RI, with 35 members and guests in attendance. This event is a time to both acknowledge members for their participation in the past year and also to say thank you to spouses and significant others for putting up with this "peculiar hobby."

Chantey Night Benefit Recap

On Saturday, February 24, 2018 the Company of Fifers & Drummers hosted a Sea Chantey Concert. The evening was filled with songs of the sea, bigger than life performances, lots of laughs, renewed and even some new friendships.
